There has been on fatality after a train hit a vehicle on the tracks at 11th and Jefferson in Springfield. The accident occurred shortly after 6 pm and traffic was blocked until approximately 9 pm.

There was only one person in the vehicle at the time of the accident, and the name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of the family.

Police are investing the accident.
