Confrontation Outside Of Wet Bar Leaves One Dead

Springfield police are investigating an incident outside Wet Bar, located at 221 S. 5th in downtown Springfield.

Officers were monitoring a crowd that had gathered when a fight erupted, leaving one man shot and one man stabbed.

Police described the crowd as aggressive and trying to push into the crime scene as they were trying to provide aid to the victim with the gunshot wound.

That victim was transported to HSHS St John's where he was later pronounced dead.

The stabbing victim is receiving treatment for a wound to the back.
