If the sky has looked a little hazy lately, there’s a reason, and it may surprise you. Smoke from the wildfires burning in California, Washington, and Oregon is making its way across the country and is over Illinois.

Air quality in the area will move into the moderate rating, and it is even possible you might smell some smoke in the air. The impact could last into Thursday before it clears out of our area and moves as far east as Maine.

Until then, the sun may appear more red in the sky leading to more beautiful sunrises and sunsets until the high altitude smoke clears out.
