Even though you will not receive a reminder in the mail, the second half of your property tax bill is due September 11. Any payments made after the 11th will be charged late fees retroactively to June 12 – when the first half of the property tax was due.

While the Treasure’s Office is currently closed to the general public during the pandemic, there are still multiple ways to make your payment

Payments can be made online using a free e-check at tax.co.sangamon.il.us or via a credit or debit card at the Illinois e-pay website. Additionally, you can pay using a credit or debit card by calling 1-877-455-3729 and follow the prompts. You will need to have your parcel number and payment amount due when you call, and a convenience fee will be charged based on the amount paid.

Payments may also be dropped off at the County Building lobby or any INB drive-thru.

You can also mail your payment to: Sangamon County Treasurer, PO Box 19400, Springfield, IL 62794-9400.
