Junior high and high school classes at Calvary Academy were canceled on Friday after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19.

While junior high students will return to the classroom on Monday , classes for the high school will be online until October 1. Elementary level grades have not been impacted.

Principal Jay Hinckley said the staff has contacted the Sangamon County Department of Public Health and has been following CDC guidelines. He said due to the school’s practices and protocols, the county says there is no risk to the students

The teacher who tested positive and other teachers who had come into contact with that individual are quarantining.
