Man Who Robbed Hy-Vee Identified

21-year-old Edward Franklin of Riverdale, IL in Cook County, has been charged with aggravated robbery and is in custody in the Sangamon County Jail with his bond set at $75,000.

Franklin is accused of robbing Hy-Vee on MacArthur Blvd or Tuesday morning after he demanded money from an employee at the liquor counter. After receiving the cash, Franklin fled the store.

After Springfield Police attempted to stop Franklin’s vehicle, he jumped out of without putting it in park, causing it to crash into a fence. He was apprehended after a brief foot chase.
