Portillo's To Open in December

It’s a tough time to open a restaurant!

As Sangamon County prepares to enter full mitigation restrictions this Friday, Portillo's is planning its grand opening at its new location at the southwest corner of Veterans Parkway and Lindbergh Boulevard.

The official opening date is December 8, initially offering only drive-thru and delivery until the county lifts restrictions on indoor dining.

However, you won’t have to wait quite that long for Portillo's famous hotdogs.

The “Beef Bus” will be open on-site weekdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4-7 p.m. through November 25, offering a limited menu

The company hosted a media day on Tuesday.
