Sangamon County Sets New Record For Single Day COVID-19 Totals On Saturday

Sangamon County Department of Public Health reported a new single day day total of confirmed COVID-19 cases on Saturday with 64 confirmed new positive tests. However, Gail O’Neill, director of the Sangamon County Department of Public Health, said the large Saturday total could be a result of testing backlog.

Only 4 new positive cases were reported on Sunday.

Currently, the county has 2,018 total positive cases of COVID-19, 21 hospitalizations, and 40 deaths.
