Shooting At Lake Victoria Leaves Teen Dead

18-year-old Gary T Broomfield has died of multiple gunshot wounds in Springfield’s ninth homicide of the year.

The shooting took place at approximately 9:30 pm Monday night in the 2100 block of Lake Victoria Drive. After being wounded multiple times in the lower body, Broomfield was taken to HSHS St John’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead 3:35 am Tuesday morning.

The shooting remains under investigation.
