Shooting Near Sacred Heart-Griffin Leaves Teen Injured

Springfield Police responded to a shooting near Sacred Heart-Griffin in the 1200 block of Monroe Street a little before 2 pm on Saturday afternoon.

The vehicles were traveling east on Monroe when a female teenager was struck by a bullet after shots were reportedly fired from one car into the car the victim was in. Her injuries are considered non-life-threatening.

After the shooting, the suspect fled the scene, and the incident remains under investigation
