Springfield Man Indicted On three Murder Charges

When Springfield Police responded to a call of a hit run on Pennsylvania Ave on July 14, they found Ray Lofton unresponsive in the road. He was transported to HSHS St John’s Hospital, where he later died.

Now 33-year-old Blake J Walton is facing 20 to 60 years in prison after being indicted by a grand jury on three first-degree murder charges.

Walton is currently in custody in the Sangamon County Jail on a $2 million bond. He will be arraigned later today (Thursday, August 13).
