University of Springfield (UIS) released its 18-page "Return to the Prairie" plan for how classes will work when the fall semester starts August 24th to help prevent the spreads of COVID-19.

Some of the highlights include

  • Face coverings that cover both the nose and mouth are required in all common areas.

  • Face coverings will be required in any area where 6 foot social distancing is not possible.

  • Labs and Classrooms will be set up to meet social distancing guidelines.

  • Labs and classrooms will be cleaned and disinfected daily.

  • Classes will be remotely taught starting November 25 and remain that way through the end of the semester.

  • While students will be allowed to live on campus in either single and double occupancy residence halls, townhouses and apartments, guests are prohibited.

  • There will be no self service at the UIS Student Union Food Studio - though carryout will be encouraged.

  • Campus Health Services will provide COVID-19 testing to all students.

If you wish to read the entire plan, it is available at https://uis.edu/fall2020.
